Harajyuku & Shibyua

Harajyuku & Shibyua

I had a colleague visit Tokyo  over the weekend so I brought him for a little sightseeing. Being a Sunday, we visited Harajyuku and Shibuya. It's been a while since I've visited Harajyuku and I've noticed that there are now more non-Japanese now that are  into cosplay. For those who are not familiar, cosplay is genre of entertainment where people dress up in costumes inspired mainly by manga or anime characters. I feel that the level of detail in their cosplay has also increased, may be due to availability of commercially available products.

The next stop was Shinjyuku and there was a long line of tourists just to get a photo with the Hachiko statue. I don't remember if there was ever a line in the past. Might be due to the movie...
